Numerous Old Testament scriptures prophesy a major oil discovery to take place in Israel in the “last days.”

“More blessed than sons is Asher; May he be favored by his brothers, and may he dip his foot in oil. His shoes shall be iron and brass …” — Deut. 33:24

In projects that date as far back as the early 1980s, work has increased in recent years by multiple oil and gas companies, mostly from the United States, to find Israel’s oil. Wally has reported on these projects since the ’80s when he was the national spokesman for what was then known as “The Asher Project.” At that time, he provided daily drilling updates to radio stations across the US for the late Andy Sorelle of Energy Exploration, Inc. in Houston as they drilled in Israel’s Asher region between Caesarea and Haifa.
